90 Years of Urban Imagination
18:30 - 19:00
La Centrale
There are figures capable of changing the very nature of a discipline forever. Sir Peter Cook is one such figure. As a co-founder, in the 1960s, of the legendary Archigram group, he revolutionised architecture and urban planning not with concrete, but through the power of drawing and speculative fiction.
Just a few days before his 90th birthday, the British master and founder of Peter Cook Studio takes to the main stage at Utopian Hours Torino 2026 for a historic talk. The occasion is crowned by a special event: for two months, Dorado, one of the two venues of Utopian Hours, is hosting an exclusive exhibition of original drawings by Cook — many of which have never been exhibited in Italy before. A celebration of the imagination as a primary urban technology, in the age of hyper-realistic renderings.
A pivotal and iconic figure in the global architecture world. Co-founder of the legendary avant-garde group Archigram, Sir Peter Cook revolutionized the way we think about cities and urban space. Today, with his studio, he continues to push the boundaries of innovation, creating visionary architecture around the world and confirming himself as one of the greatest urban thinkers of our time.
