THE NEIGHBORHOOD EFFECT
Urban creativity, involvement of the younger generations, and care for public spaces are key tools in urban regeneration processes. Without communities, there are no cities. A collective reflection to understand how to work on the identity of neighbourhoods together with those who live there.
From cultural initiatives to sports. From artistic projects to spontaneous forms of civic engagement: people —especially younger generations— are key actors in shaping positive narratives that foster well-being and a sense of belonging within neighborhoods. But how can this widespread energy be transformed into a structured practice of urban regeneration? How can we value the desires and needs of young people to drive the development of more complex urban areas? These questions will be explored with experts, administrators, and local activists from Italy and other European cities.
Working group in English.
