How sustainable mobility can design happier, healthier cities and inspire positive change globally.

Moda City is a creative agency and consultancy that champions a simple but transformative idea: cities should be designed for people, not just cars. Founded by Melissa and Chris Bruntlett, Modacity works at the intersection of storytelling, urban design, and behavior change to promote more human-scale, inclusive, and joyful urban environments. Through engaging content, public campaigns, consulting, and thought leadership, the agency reframes mobility not as a technical challenge, but as a cultural opportunity.

Whether it’s helping cities reimagine streets for cycling and walking, or crafting narratives that connect urban policy to everyday lives, Moda City believes in the power of human stories to shift perceptions and habits. Their work builds bridges between planners, policymakers, and communities—grounding abstract concepts like sustainability and livability in relatable, personal experience.

From Vancouver to Delft and beyond, Modacity’s projects aim to spark meaningful change, using empathy and creativity as tools for transforming how we move through—and feel in—our cities. The goal isn’t just better infrastructure, but better lives.

Melissa Bruntlett is a Canadian author and urban mobility advocate who promotes happier, healthier cities through sustainable transport. Co-author of Building the Cycling City, she helps communities learn from Dutch mobility culture. Now based in Delft, she leads Modacity Creative, using storytelling and design to inspire positive urban change worldwide.
