The promotion of the value of equity as an indiscernible element in the dialogue between local communities and public administration is at the centre of Brion Oaks’ work as the first Chief Equity Officer of the city of Austin.

Brion is active in combating discrimination within Texas’ public offices, analysing the way in which equity is applied in policies, programmes and decisions on budget within the city.

During the course of his career, Brion focused on bettering the life conditions of minorities and combating disparity in access to healthcare. Today, his goal is to ensure that the first step towards equity is made by public administrations.
