Marina Kyriakou

Architect and Urbanist

Cyprus-based architect and urbanist Marina Kyriakou studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Strasbourg, in France. She researched and developed projects on the transformation of underused spaces into community-oriented places. Kyriakou is a leader of the Placemaking Europe network and aims to improve the notion of public and shared spaces in the urban contexts of Cyprus.

Today, she works for the Cyprus Energy Agency —a non-profit committed to the energetic transition of Cyprus— and she is also putting her efforts into generating sustainability in urban mobility as the Bicycle Mayor of Nicosia.
