Philipp Rode has worked at the London School of Economics as a researcher, consultant, and coordinator of interdisciplinary projects on city administration, transport, and urban planning. He is currently the Executive Director of LSE Cities, Co-Director of the LSE Executive MSc in Cities, and Associate Professor at the School of Public Policy.
Holding degrees in transport systems, city design, and urban governance, his recent work focuses on institutional structures for city administration, sustainable development, new urban mobility, and socio-technological transitions. Throughout his career, he co-founded the Urban Age Programme (managing its global research from 2005 to 2018) and has worked with over 50 city and metropolitan governments, as well as international organizations like the UN and OECD.
