Feminist Urbanism is the Future

Feminist Urbanism is the Future

Feminist urbanism challenges sexism in traditional urban planning, and design paradigms to account for women’s lives and experiences.
Women’s safety and autonomy in cities is a problem of global concern. Through her research, Visakha investigates the relevance of feminist urbanism as a visionary approach that can provide answers to the numerous vexing problems affecting cities globally, from violence against women to tackling climate change.
Through her writing and podcast series, The Feminist City, she explores how urban space is produced and the exclusionary logic underpinning it, arguing that feminist urbanism offers a radically egalitarian vision for cities.
