The Making of Corso Farini
A short documentary to tell the story of Stratosferica's second placemaking intervention
In March 2023, thanks to the collaboration with the City of Turin and the support of the international network Cities4Forests, Stratosferica launched its second placemaking intervention after the Precollinear Park experience.
The project involves Corso Farini, an area adjacent to the Campus Luigi Einaudi and the iconic gasometers of Italgas. A public space with great potential that for years has remained a neglected place and not much used by the local community.
Stratosferica’s intervention involved residents, university students, the local cultural associations and a wide network of volunteers to give life to a new public space.
In just a few months, many interventions have improved the perception of this space: a new lighting system, flower boxes, a pop-up bar, seating areas, social tables and many new elements of street furniture. In the spring-summer of 2023, a rich season of cultural events also animated the space, giving many realities the opportunity to tell their stories to the citizens.
“The Making of Corso Farini” is a documentary made by filmmaker Flora del Debbio to narrate the evolution of this project of care and community engagement.
