The “Tesla” of Ecovillages
In the Silicon Valley, software is rewriting the rules of city planning. The tech-utopia of a new, hyper-technological and self-sufficient village.
For over 25 years, James Ehrlich has been experimenting with innovation and cleantech. His latest venture with Stanford University is the visionary concept of a futuristic eco-village where technological innovation, circular economy, and self-sufficiency create a new urban vision. These are the ReGen Villages.
To create these self-sufficient settlements close to nature, Ehrlich has created the “Village OS” software. This tool utilizes AI and machine learning to aid in planning, covering everything from water supply and renewable energy to food production and the development of small neighborhoods. This integrated system not only enables the intelligent use of resources but also promises to provide engineers, architects, and urban planners with a tool to facilitate the various stages of design.
Ehrlich has chosen the Stratosferica festival to present this ambitious project for the first time in Italy, bridging the gap between utopia and a new frontier in city quitting.
