Arts and global challenges with Miami’s The Underline

The underused spaces beneath Miami's Metrorail are set to become a 16 km linear park, extending from Downtown to South Miami.
The design, crafted by James Corner Field Operations, transforms the neglected area under the tracks into a modern urban trail and a destination for public art.
This vision is led by Meg Daly, who saw the potential of this space in 2013 and began its redevelopment with the intention of creating a community resource.
This project, currently in its final phases, is the result of a collaboration between Miami-Dade County, the board of Friends of The Underline, private donors, and volunteers who maintain the park.
With The Underline, Miami is presenting a new option for mobility and a valuable resource for community life.
