The think tank that wants to “urbanise” Artificial Intelligence
The alternative to the smart city. With Urban AI, Hubert Beroche pushes for new technologies to enhance the human value of cities.
After exploring twelve cities and meeting more than 130 experts in technological innovation, in 2021 Hubert Beroche founded Urban AI – an interdisciplinary working group investigating the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and urban phenomena.
This has given rise to a Manifesto and a research programme to update the smart city concept and put people and their needs back at the forefront. Beroche and the more than 150 members of the think tank have a clear vision: the first task of technology is to adapt to the city and define new tools for active citizenship.
According to the Urban AI Manifesto, the only limit of urban technologies is imposed by our own imagination. Beroche will bring the experience and vision of this collective research group to Utopian Hours to explain what we need to do to put technology at the service of cities.
