Workshop — Meanwhile Placemaking

Workshop — Meanwhile Placemaking

Starting from a forgotten building that has remained closed for decades, we imagine possible transformations for a more welcoming and dynamic Lungo Dora. The workshop on meanwhile placemaking by Utopian Hours 2023 curated by Petra Marko.
Like every year, one of the international guests of Utopian Hours will lead an on-site workshop open to students, professionals and urban regeneration enthusiasts. For the 2023 edition, Stratosferica has chosen Petra Marko, an architect, placemaking expert and author who has been working on inclusive public spaces for more than a decade.
The workshop will once again deal with a piece of the city that Stratosferica has been working on for some time: the Lungo Dora. Under Petra Marko’s guidance, the participants will work on the potential of this precious public space, including Dorado – a former warehouse of 1,000 square metres now completely empty and facing the river on which Stratosferica will soon start a temporary reuse project – in the project reasoning.
The workshop aims to develop ideas and means —temporary interventions, performative actions, installations, narratives and urban storytelling— to redefine the identity and functionality of the area starting from the needs of the people who live there.
Workshop with registration and limited places.
