Graduated in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and graduated in Piano from the Conservatorio di Musica G. Verdi, Francesca Colombo has always worked as a cultural manager. She has been General Director of the MAST Foundation (Bologna), co-founder and Secretary General of MITO, Artistic Director of the Stradivari Festival (Cremona), Superintendent of the Opera Theater of Florence, responsible for the culture program of Milan Expo 2015, Responsible for artistic co-productions of the Teatro alla Scala. She was named Young Global Leader and Expert in Arts & Culture of the World Economic Forum.
She sits on the Board of Directors of prestigious cultural-social-educational institutions (Pinacoteca di Brera, Fondazione Milano per la Scala, San Patrignano fundraising committee, Palazzo Reale di Genova, advisory board of the Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum …) and lectures in several Italian universities.
Since 2018 she is General and Cultural Director of the public park BAM-Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano, an innovative Public-Private Partnership involving the Municipality of Milan, Fondazione Riccardo Catella and COIMA for the care of the park and the creation of an cultural program on the themes of sustainability, inclusion, community engagement and multiculturalism.
