Ximena Caminos

Founder / The ReefLine

Ximena Caminos is a cultural entrepreneur and placemaker. Her work focuses on the connection between culture, community building and urban development.
She is Artistic Visionary Planner for The Underline, a project for a park stretching 10 miles under Miami’s Metrorail.
Since 2004, she has been Chief Curator of the Faena Arts Center in Buenos Aires and founded the Faena Prize for the Arts, one of the largest art prizes in Latin America.
She has often been cited as one of the most influential figures in the international contemporary art scene, winning numerous awards including the Knight Foundation Arts Champion Award and the Knight Foundation Arts Challenge Award 2019. Caminos is a member of the New Museum Leadership Council, a founding member of the Latin American Circle Partner of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and an art advisor to the city of Basel.
Today, Caminos works to promote ocean conservation and combat climate change through the BlueLab Preservation Society. At Utopian Hours she participates mainly as founder of The ReefLine, an underwater sculpture park more than 10 kilometres off the coast of Miami Beach.
