Better Cities Film Festival
Utopian Hours kicks off with a selection of award-winning short documentaries from recent editions of the Detroit-based festival, where films demonstrate how to shape more lively cities and neighborhoods.
The Better Cities Film Festival stems from the desire to open the conversation on urban planning to a broader audience. The goal: engage a wide, attentive, and curious public, using the power of storytelling to inspire civic participation.
In its five-year history, the festival has grown significantly, becoming one of the most inspiring events of its kind. The first afternoon of Utopian Hours features the Best of Fest selection: a collection of films chosen by the festival directors that showcase stories of activism, placemaking, urban transformation, and community building.
The screening will be introduced by John Paget and Chris Elisara, the festival’s co-founders.
