Edward Glaeser

Edward Glaeser is professor and chairman of the Department of Economics at Harvard University, where he has been teaching since 1992. He has published dozens of articles on the economic growth of cities and, in particular, his work has focused on the determinants behind the growth of cities and the role they play as conduits of ideas in our society. In 2008, with his book “Triumph of the City” he described cities as humanity’s greatest invention. His latest book “Survival of the City: Living and Thriving in an Age of Isolation” was published in 2021 and examines the threats to urban life, deepening the debate on the fate of the city in the post-pandemic era.
