Doug Gordon’s
“The War on Cars”

“The War on Cars” is among the most successful urban podcasts of the last few years. At Utopian Hours the host discusses the future of mobility.
Doug Gordon is the co-founder of The War on Cars, a podcast series that examines the challenges and opportunities of urban transportation. Putting the use of cars under scrutiny, the podcast explores topics related to sustainable mobility and the future of cities.
Gordon, for his part, is a staunch advocate of two-wheeled mobility and pedestrian safety in large American metropolises, starting with New York City where he has lived for 25 years. The War on Cars was born out of his activism and innate quality as a speaker and storyteller. In the past Gordon has worked in TV and written for newspapers such as The Guardian, The New Republic, Salon, and Curbed.
After Berlin Autofrei, which thrilled the audience of Utopian Hours 2022 by proclaiming the need for a car-free city, this year’s festival will once again welcome a speaker who will lead the audience to question the relationship between cities and cars
